This is an R&D Designer role in Roseville, MN. In this role, you will play a key role in developing next-generation products. This is a hands-on role for a creative, detail-oriented person who enjoys solving complex design challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work from concept through commercialization—bringing ideas to life, supporting prototyping and testing, and helping scale products into manufacturing.

As an R&D Designer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and construct prototypes/products from concepts. Contribute original concepts to the development of advanced prototypes and fixtures
  • Explore and propose creative solutions based on solid rationales and contribute to design and process concepts
  • Create engineering drawings using CAD Software and create complete R&D engineering documentation following established procedures
  • Organize, coordinate, and executethe  building and testing of products per engineering instructions
  • Actively participate in project team meetings
  • Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards
  • Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services
  • Identify vendors to identify and acquire necessary supplies, materials, equipment and tools for specific projects

What You’ll Need

  • Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) or equivalent or 5+ years in R&D technical support or related area
  • Experience in CAD, particularly SolidWorks
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong hands-on skills
     
  • Ability to set-up/conduct product testing and collect data
  • Experience supporting projects interacting with other technicians and engineers

Compensation: 

  • $100K base + 10% bonus (~$110K total comp)
