This is a Business Development Representative role in the San Diego Area, covering San Diego, Mexi-Cali, Tijuana, and Texas. The Business Development Representative is focused on selling custom label solutions and other medical printing, such as IFU’s and booklets, in the medical device and industrial markets for mission critical, highly regulated products. This is a proactive hunter role requiring a strategic thinker who excels at identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate has a strong B2B or medical sales background and thrives in a performance-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
As a Business Development Representative, you will:
Prospect and qualify new leads through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and marketing-generated leads.
Identify and target strategic accounts within the medical device and industrial sectors, understanding their labeling needs and regulatory requirements.
Map and engage stakeholders across large organizations, identifying decision-makers and influencers at each stage of the sales process.
Drive new business acquisition by developing a robust sales pipeline and converting prospects into long-term customers.
Develop a long-term strategy for account penetration and engagement across complex organizations.
Conduct discovery meetings, product presentations, and solution-based selling to demonstrate value and differentiation.
Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, customer service, engineering, and operations) to create tailored proposals and solutions.
Maintain accurate activity and opportunity tracking, providing accurate sales forecasts.
Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance market visibility and generate leads.
Support organic growth by expanding product penetration within existing accounts and identifying cross-sell/up-sell opportunities.
Provide market intelligence to help shape and develop new product offerings and strategic sales initiatives.
What You’ll Need
3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in labels, printing, packaging, or manufacturing.
Experience working with medical manufacturing clients is required.
Strong hunter mentality with exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
Proven success in winning new business with a track record of meeting or exceeding new business targets.
Strong understanding of technical sales processes and ability to navigate complex customer requirements.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency with ERP & CRM tools
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
Appropriate unexpired government documentation to be able to travel across the Mexico border (ie. passport, global
entry, etc.).
Ability to travel up to 30 – 50% of the time, primarily in San Diego and Mexico (TJ & Mexicali) for client visits and industry events.
