The Supplier Quality Manager will be a key contributor to the quality and supply chain organization and heavily influence the overall quality of the ZincFive family of products. The role will be responsible for ensuring that products and materials sourced from suppliers meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements and developing relationships with key suppliers. This position involves developing and implementing quality strategies, conducting audits, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with suppliers to maintain high quality throughout the supply chain. The person in this role will develop a supplier quality team to support supplier development, process and product improvement. The position may be worked remotely or at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon and reports to the Director of Quality Assurance. Supplier Quality Manager Job Duties:Create, implement, and improve quality assurance strategies and processes for supplier quality management, including developing and documenting a PPAP processConduct regular audits of suppliers to verify compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligationsDevelop and manage quality plans in collaboration with suppliers, ensuring products meet specific requirementsMonitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics, identifying trends, and reporting on performanceDrive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to enhance product quality and address areas for improvementLead investigations into quality issues or defects using root cause analysis techniques and implementing corrective and preventive actionsCollaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, engineering, manufacturing) and suppliers to define requirements, resolve quality issues, and maintain strong relationshipsWork with suppliers to improve their quality management systems, processes, and overall performance through creation of SOP’s, or BKMIdentify and mitigate risks associated with supplier quality, including potential impacts on production and product safetyMaintain documentation for supplier quality processes, audits, assessments, and performance metricsProvide training and guidance to suppliers on quality assurance practices and proceduresBuild, manage, coach and develop a high performing Supplier Quality team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvementsProvide leadership, direction, management and development to the Supplier Quality Engineering teamSet department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reportsReport on achievement of targets and identify any actions requiredMotivate and coach the team to operational successMonitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systemsConsistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or equivalent years of relevant experience8+ years Supplier Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment 5+ years supervisory or management leadershipExperienced in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Experienced in product development life cycle managementCritical thinking, problem solving skills, attention to details, teamworkStrong leadership skills and experience in supplier quality managementA strong understanding of quality management principles, quality control processes, and relevant industry standards (ISO 9001)Strong communication, negotiation, analytical skills and interpersonal skills to manage supplier relationships effectivelyDeep understanding of quality management systems, risk management, and supplier auditingStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities including root cause analysis and corrective action implementationStrong project management experienceData analysis and reporting skillsProficient in MS Office SuiteAbility to travel domestically and internationally, as needed Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulatory requirementsPreferred Skills: Certified auditor in ISO 14001 and 45001Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma principles and QMS software Key Competencies: Attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCollaborative with external and internal stakeholdersProblem solving and analytical skillsThe ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasksThe ability to work independently and in collaboratively in a team environment Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work involves sitting, standing, bending, occasional walking and lifting up to 30 pounds Requires close visual acuity, ability to hear and the ability to distinguish colorNormal office and manufacturing environmentsTravel by air, car, bus, or train 30%+  Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave. ZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
