Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety LeadershipChampion and cultivate a proactive, relationship-based safety culture by empowering employees at all levelsLead the development and implementation of safety initiatives, campaigns, and continuous improvement strategiesDeploy and manage safety systems, processes, and metrics to drive performance and reduce riskProvide leadership and support to the safety program Strategic PlanningContribute to the development of annual safety goals, initiatives, and departmental budgetTrack, analyze, and present safety KPIs, trends, and initiatives as company meetings Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulationsManage OSHA recordkeeping, including OSHA 300 logs, and reporting requirementsManage and update the Health, Safety, & Environmental Policy ManualOversee compliance programs including GHS, SDS, and other regulatory requirementsManage third-party verification platforms as required by customersOversee organizational safety certifications and credentialing Develop and execute audit schedules, document findings and implement corrective actions Crisis & Incident ManagementServe as a key safety leader in crisis situationsPartner in post-incident response, investigation, and emergency preparedness planningPromote organization-wide understanding of crisis management role and procedures. Project & Job Site SafetyAct as a trusted advisor to field teams, project managers, and leadership on safe work practicesConduct regular job site visits, safety observations, and risk assessments (pretasks)Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirementsLead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementationMonitor safety meetings, inspections, and training to ensure effectiveness and consistencySupport leading indicator programs and continuous safety improvement efforts Auto & Fleet SafetyManage auto liability claims in coordination with employees and insurance providersSupport company vehicle and equipment fleet, including maintenance tracking and repair coordinationAssist with DOT compliance and management requirements Support fleet safety initiatives, including tracking programs and driver accountability Workers’ CompensationAdminister the workers’ compensation program, including claims management and return-to-work processesInvestigate incidents and complete required reporting, including First Report of InjuryMonitor and manage lost-time claims and support early return-to-work initiatives Training & DevelopmentLead safety training programs to ensure compliance and safe work practicesFacilitate new hire safety onboarding and ongoing employee educationDevelop, manage, and deliver toolbox talks Promote proper use of PPE and fall protection practices Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, GHS)Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actionsExcellent communication and presentation skillsProven ability to build trust influence others, and leads through relationshipsStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsSelf-directed with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office and mobile technologiesDemonstrates professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in safety-related field and 5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferrable in construction, or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid driver's license with acceptable driving record and proof of insurance Working ConditionsCombination of field (45%) and office (55%) work environmentsAbility to navigate active construction sites with uneven terrainCapable of standing, walking, and performing physical movements for extended periodsFrequent travel to job sites, primarily day tripsAvailability for on-call response to incidents and emergencies
