Full-time Description The position is responsible for overseeing all DOT, and Health & Safety compliance for Federal, State and Local regulations.Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, and management of the Company’s DOT Trucking Compliance Programs, including CMV Files, DOT Driver Qualification Files, Vehicle Inspections, Hours of Service, etc.Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and OSHAWorks with various department heads to ensure work procedures and policies are followed to maintain a safe working environmentKeep abreast of any changes in the laws surrounding the industryWorks HR and Dispatchers and provides input in yearly Driver Evaluations (in all markets)Works with dispatch on hiring and termination of driversWorks with driver trainers to assure proper training is being taughtAssist in general terminal management to ensure compliance and accountability measures are metInvestigate all accidentsReport claims that require the insurance company to be involvedManage Tank Compliance and any foreseeable tank issues.Inspections and repairs for NEL and GLP facilitiesFacilitate and perform inspections of all NEL and GLP vehiclesMaintaining facilities up to osha standards and updating them as OSHA changesMonitoring GLP and NEL CSA scores working with pertaining departments for failing categories.All DOT annual filingsCompliance with Samsara with all pertaining employees on all federal, local regulationsFacilitate Audits within Samsara for driver files, oversee improving how we use SamsaraOversee RTA/TMT and how we use RTA/TMT for DOT regs and company costsPerform safety meetings based off need and current issues per locationInvestigate, report and monitor all accidents, spills for insuranceMaintain and update all aspects of the company to stay within our captive insurance requirementsMaintain and update our safety program, tank compliance programManage all employees of the safety department, driver trainer development Requirements B.S. in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, or related Science Discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will also be consideredComprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State DOT, Health & Safety Trucking Regulations, especially the DOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and Drug & Alcohol RegulationsStrong leadership and organization, with the ability to prioritize duties and achieve goals with limited supervisionEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company personnel at all levels
