IS SEEKING A DRIVEN AND DISCIPLINED SAFETY MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION TO JOIN OUR TEAM!  The Safety Manager is responsible for assuring applicable safety requirements are communicated to all workers, incorporated in work methods, and inspecting the work to ensure that safety measures and instructions are applied. Additional duties include preparing JSA, Hazard Analysis Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, accident reporting/investigation and training employees on safety in the construction fields. Company Core Values: Do the Right Thing, Always Find A Way or Make One Say What You Mean Exceed Customer Expectations MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review and approval of safety programs designed to meet the goals of the company. Implementation of the safety programs through motivation, training, counseling, and enforcement. Initiating compliance for all safety program elements. Conducts routine safety audits on construction sites and machinery to identify potential hazard to ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. Work with field staff to develop and implement corrective action to address deficiencies. Training employees in accident prevention and compliance.  Investigation of incident/illness and property damage reports. Maintaining a state certified workplace safety committee. Develops and implements effective training programs relating to OSHA, DOT and industry best practices. Ensures that all essential and mandatory industry regulations are in place, that employees are trained in those regulations where necessary, and that ongoing compliance is being followed. Ensures required OSHA and client reporting documentation is completed accurately and timely. Oversees internal safety audits to monitor compliance and drive continuous improvement. Ensures all audit recommendations are properly communicated and their completion is properly documented. Routinely evaluates common trends and creates remediation plans to address them. Coordinates incident procedures for injured employees as well as overseeing root cause investigation procedures for accidents involving employees, automobiles, property, and equipment damage. Works closely with the claims teams and Director of Safety to ensure proper claim-handling procedures are being followed. EDUCATION/TRAINING: Requires 2 years of college (or 5 years field experience in construction); Major: Construction Safety and Health. Must have the ability to identify hazards related to the construction field. Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with the rules and regulations of federal and state safety laws including OSHA, DOT and the EPA is preferred. Advanced Safety Certifications: GSP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent certification preferred. Experience with managing Worker’s Compensation, Automobile and General Liability claim administration a plus. Must have strong presentation skills to effectively conduct training. EXPERIENCE: Five to ten years of construction safety and health experience preferred PROBLEM SOLVING/TROUBLESHOOTING: To some extent generates problem solutions. At average level serves as advisor/consultant, develops operating procedures, and influences employees’ work. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Frequent contact with employees inside and outside the department, and customers. Continual contact with vendors. Frequent contact customers.
