Job Summary: We are currently seeking an experienced, self-starter, goal oriented, candidate to fill the role of Safety Coordinator working in our Harrison, Ohio facility.   This position supports the Ameco site and personnel with safety inspections, compliance program implementation, project planning, employee training, and other safety and health services.  This individual must possess a high level of organization and time management skills.  He or she must be able to effectively communicate with various audiences as well as people at different levels within the organization.  This individual reports directly to the Senior HSE Manager.   Other areas of focus would include engaging in out-reach programs within the community that support the goal to be inclusive and our desire to improve the communities in which we live and work.Responsibilities are as follows:Lead SafetyChampion AMECO’s Begin-End Safe Onsite cultureUnderstand operations schedule for risk planning Ensure effective understanding, communication and consistent reinforcement of both site and Ameco safety expectations and objectives in partnership with site and HSE leadershipProject Communications & EngagementDevelop & Manage relationships at all levels including projects/craft, shop, site leadership and Ameco corporateEnsure to develop and cultivate relationships external to Ameco, including subcontractors, regulatory entities, medical service providers and other appropriate venders.Attend /Participate in Industry/Regulatory Trade GroupsTrend and Benchmark Safety Performance – Monitor/Review internal reporting requirements Develop and support execution of action plans for Safety PerformanceParticipate and provide guidance in HSE related Safety Committees Consistent presence on shop floors – Timely response to questions or issuesLead/ Participate in the morning STA review as assignedEnsure consistent communication and timely delivery on internal projects & tasksWorksite ManagementWork with Site Management teams on job site safety planning, including but not limited to the following:Maintains site-wide HSE programs and policies in alignment with corporate and Senior HSE Manager directionParticipates in assigned or required safety meetingsCoordinate and/or administers safety orientations for new personnelAssures timely investigations, inspections, and reporting of HSE matters within the area assigned Conduct weekly site safety inspections, identify trends, and assist with corrective actionsMaintains records, reports, and documents to meet company or regulatory requirements.Complete site walks and enter observationsEnsure understanding of site needs by individual engagement of project staffParticipate in and support incident investigations, including data collection and documentation, in coordination with Senior HSE leadershipTrainingDevelopment and implementation of safety programs:Training programs focusing on the specific needs of a siteMonthly New Hire training, including Fall Protection and equipment trainingDevelopment of safety toolbox talksHazard Recognition tools & skill developmentMentor & assist site staff and provide support during new hire onboardingCompliance / Risk ManagementProvide safety knowledge and expertise to support consistency in safety policies and procedures throughout project Assist with environmental and industrial hygiene activities, including coordination of IH monitoring (silica, noise, asbestos, lead, mold), utilizing internal resources or external consultants as appropriateAssist Ameco personnel in the development, revision and implementation of new or updated policies, procedures or task specific work instructionsEnsure proper risk assessment has been completed and that risks defined and communicated to appropriate decision makers Participate as, or call upon, internal SMEs for site aspects requiring task specific consultationSupport implementation and maintenance of emergency response systems, policies, and proceduresCommunicates effectively with representatives of regulatory agencies and customers under the guidance of Senior HSE leadership to resolve compliance issues and provide requested informationPrepare data analysis and reports and assist with interpretation of safety and health requirements in support of site and corporate objectives.Partner with the site staff to interpret and evaluate internal safety requirements, accident investigation, and implementation of corrective action measuresAdministrative functions including but not limited to:Completion of paperwork, associated with safety inspections, permits, accident/incident follow-up, OSHA inspections, employee training, and safety orientations Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field plus 1 – 3 years of industry and/or construction experience OR 5 – 7 years of equivalent work experience.OSHA 30 hr. certificationTechnical working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulationsPractical experience in employee safety and equipment competency trainingExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficient in MS-Word, Excel, and
