We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.We need a Quality Manager to own quality end to end. Every cert, every dimension, every label, every shipment. Aerospace and defense customers do not give second chances on quality, and we do not plan to give them a reason to. Nox Metals is an employer with real opportunity for long term career growth, this is a place to build a career, not just hold a job.You will:Own AS9100 end to end, build the QMS, run it, audit it, certify it, defend itOwn DFARS, AMS, ASTM, and customer-specific quality compliance, every cert, every shipmentReview and verify every mill cert, every heat number, every traceability record before it leaves the dockOwn the cert package process, every shipment goes out with complete, accurate, customer-ready documentationOwn dimensional inspection, tolerances, flatness, length, width, thickness, every cut measured against specOwn cleanliness, packaging, labeling, and presentation, what the customer opens reflects who we areBuild and maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection procedures, and quality recordsRun incoming inspection on mill material, in-process inspection on the floor, and final inspection at the dockLead root cause analysis and corrective action when something goes wrong, fix it once and fix it for goodOwn customer quality complaints, RMAs, and supplier quality issues from open to closeRun internal audits, prepare for and host customer and certification auditsPartner with engineering and software to build quality checks into NOX NEST, WAYNE, and our internal toolsAlways ask questions, never guess when something is unclearLook at every process and figure out how to make it betterWork safely every shift and hold your teammates to the same standardYou should be:Deep experience owning an AS9100 quality management system, you have built it, run it, and passed audits on itFluent in DFARS, AMS, ASTM, and aerospace and defense quality requirementsSkilled with dimensional inspection tools, calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, optical comparators, whatever the job needsStrong in cert package documentation and traceability, every heat, every lot, every shipment tied togetherExperienced with cleanliness, packaging, and labeling standards for aerospace and defense customersCracked with software and data, you build quality records that are searchable, reportable, and audit-readyAn operator at heart, you walk the floor, you inspect parts yourself, you do not run quality from a deskComfortable as a solo IC for now, you own the function end to end and will build the team as we growHigh attention to quality, this is the jobAlways thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"Absolutely customer obsessed, every cert, every dimension, every package is how the customer experiences NoxA team player with a good attitude, you make the floor better for everyone around youSomeone who takes ownership, if it ships, it ships because you signed offPrecise under pressure and reliable, quality does not bend for a deadlineOrganized and detail oriented, audit-ready every day, not just on audit dayCommitted to safety, you follow every protocol, wear your PPE, and never cut corners that put people at riskHigh agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when neededLow ego, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get doneAble to lift up to 50 lbs and operate heavy equipment on your feet when the floor needs youNot afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands itNever says "that's not my job"Nice to have:Experience in metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense supply chainsASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or comparable credentialsLead auditor training for AS9100 or ISO 9001Forklift and/or overhead crane certificationComfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarterThis role is full time, in person in Detroit.
