Every operator, every shift, every cut, every load goes home safe. Nothing about this is negotiable. Nox Metals is an employer with real opportunity for long term career growth, this is a place to build a career, not just hold a job.You will:Own health, safety, and environmental compliance end to end across the entire facilityBuild, run, and continuously improve our EHS program from the ground upOwn OSHA compliance, recordkeeping, reporting, and inspection readinessOwn environmental compliance, waste, air, water, hazardous materials, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulationsRun training programs for every operator, driver, lead, and manager, new hire orientation through annual refreshersWalk the floor every single day, you are not a manager who lives in an officeRun safety audits, identify hazards before they cause incidents, and close findings fastBuild and enforce SOPs for safe operation of saws, CNC equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handlingLead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action when something goes wrong, fix it once and fix it for goodOwn PPE programs, lockout tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, and confined space proceduresOwn waste streams, hazardous material storage, SDS management, and disposal manifestsBuild dashboards and reports on incident rate, near misses, training compliance, and audit findingsPartner with the Director of Manufacturing Operations and shift leads to embed safety into every workflowAlways ask questions, never guess when something is unclearLook at every process and figure out how to make it betterWork safely every shift and hold the entire factory to the same standardYou should be:3 to 4+ years owning EHS in a manufacturing, metals, machining, or comparable industrial environmentOSHA and industrial safety background, this is non-negotiableFluent in OSHA general industry standards, EPA regulations, and applicable state and local environmental rulesExperienced building EHS programs from scratch and running them in audit-ready shapeSkilled at running training programs that operators actually pay attention toComfortable as a solo IC, you own the function end to endAn operator at heart, you walk the floor, you talk to operators, you do not run safety from a deskCracked with software and data, you build EHS records that are searchable, reportable, and audit-readyCommitted to safety, this is the job, every protocol, every PPE check, every hazard identified and closedHigh attention to quality, every record, every audit, every incident reportAlways thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"Absolutely customer obsessed, a safe factory is the foundation of every customer commitment we makeA team player with a good attitude, you make the floor better for everyone around youSomeone who takes ownership, if it touches health, safety, or environment, it is your responsibilityPrecise under pressure and reliable, safety does not bend for a deadlineOrganized and detail oriented, audit-ready every day, not just on audit dayHigh agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when neededLow ego, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get doneAble to lift up to 50 lbs and operate heavy equipment on your feet when the floor needs youNot afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands itNever says "that's not my job"Nice to have:Experience in metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense supply chainsCSP, CIH, ASP, or comparable EHS credentialsOSHA 30, OSHA 500, or trainer certificationsHAZWOPER certificationForklift and/or overhead crane certificationComfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarterThis role is full time, in person in Detroit.
