The SELUTION™ SLR drug-coated balloon is Cordis’ next-generation solution for coronary interventions. Unlike traditional stents, the balloon delivers sirolimus, a proven, safe, and effective anti-proliferative drug, directly into the vessel wall during angioplasty and then leaves nothing behind.

Key Points:

    • Indication: Treatment of coronary artery disease, including in-stent restenosis and small vessel disease.

    • Mechanism: Combines the mechanical vessel dilation of angioplasty with sustained sirolimus drug release, reducing the risk of restenosis.

    • Differentiator: Unlike paclitaxel balloons, sirolimus offers a well-established safety and efficacy profile (validated in drug-eluting stents).

    • Design: Proprietary coating technology enables controlled drug uptake and retention, ensuring consistent therapeutic effect.

    • Benefit: Provides interventional cardiologists with a “leave-nothing-behind” strategy that maintains vessel integrity, reduces long-term complications, and supports optimal patient outcomes.
