INTERNSHIP DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide information and collaborate with the Facilities Process Analyst and line employees to assist with implementing programs related to work simplification, cost reduction, new methods, efficiency, and improvement.
  • Confers with manufacturing staff to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Prepares charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Evaluates data and prepares reports, including reports to management to justify purchasing new equipment.
  • Presents recommendations to management, including revision of methods of operation or material handling, alterations in equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
  • Coordinates with safety and maintenance coordinators to ensure compliance with all governmental standards when analyzing or implementing new procedures.
  • Review, research, and recommend additional machinery due to process changes.
  • Confers with management on pertinent process procedures.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Currently pursuing a certification or degree beyond a high school diploma (all interest welcome) 

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and safety regulations
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and teamwork
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
    • Understanding of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
    • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to assembly measurements and quality control
    • Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Work near moving mechanical parts on an active production floor
    • Moderate noise levels, with occasional exposure to dust or airborne particles
    • Required safety equipment includes gloves, safety glasses, and safety-toed shoes.
