Full-time Description HOURS3rd Shift = 11pm-7amSummary/Objective: The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.Essential Functions: The list of duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Completion and tracking of all capability studies, including statistical analysisCompletion and tracking of all material testing (MITR)Perform tube lay-out analysis (TLA)Perform special investigationsPerform receiving quality audits (RQA)Assist with projects as assigned by the Laboratory SupervisorAssist manufacturing with the interpretation of quality standardsContinuous improvement projects as assigned by Department Supervisor and/or Department ManagerRa testing product/raw materialRockwell testing product/raw materialPerform PPAP/ISIR studiesPerform daily repair and calibration of all gauging within the facilityFiling and recordkeeping for the laboratoryPerform GR&R for all families of inspection, measuring and test equipmentAddress daily quality issues related to manufacturing for both facilitiesMaintain sample catalog/cabinetGeneral lab housekeepingDaily recording of quality results of order verification checks during production runs (all mills)Provide technical service and support to all departments as neededWork Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderatePhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle samples and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Required Education:High school diploma or GED preferredRequired Experience:Prefer (but not required) six months related job experience Requirements Experience with office computer software required, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite software packages such as: Outlook, Word, and ExcelEffective analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communicationEffective interpersonal and customer service skillsEffective organizational and prioritization skillsAbility to be detail-orientedAbility to operate a variety of standard business machines such as: computer, keyboard, calculator, fax, and photocopierAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, percentages, and proportions to practical situations. Basic knowledge of statisticsAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Salary Description Starting at $20/hr + $1.25/hr shift premium
