The position ensures compliance with external and internal governing requirements, drives operational excellence, and supports organization performance monitoring through a metrics-led culture. The role is responsible for organizational risk, continuous improvement and knowledge management strategies. The Quality Manager partners with senior leaders to establish quality objectives, ensure timely execution of quality activities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Leadership of Quality (30%)Define, own and communicate the strategic direction and vision for quality in PRIPartner with senior leadership to align quality priorities with broader organizational goalsBuild strong relationships with senior leaders to embed quality into day-to-day operationsAdvise senior leaders on quality risks, trends and improvement opportunitiesDrive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence with particular focus on developing a metrics-driven quality cultureQuality Team Leadership and Development (20%)Lead, mentor and grow Quality team’s capabilitiesDirect Internal and External Audits (15%)Assume lead auditor role and lead preparation for external auditsCreate and execute annual risk-based audit programEnsure that inadequate levels of performance or deficiencies are addressed by managementPerform process proofing (e.g. internal audits, Root Cause Corrective Action closure)Manage Risks and Continuous Improvement (15%)Collaborate with senior leaders to lead identification and mitigation of organizational, program and function risksCollaborate with senior leaders to identify and drive implementation of cross functional improvement projectsEvaluate risk and continuous opportunity matrices for standardization, effectiveness, and track progress of all mitigation and continuous improvement strategiesQuality Assurance and Control (10%)Establish and manage quality standards, Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreements and criteriaVerify processes are consistently followed and effectiveOversee Command Media (5%)Assure all command media has an ownerAssure command media aligns with governing requirements, is clearly written, and drives the right behaviorAssure all command media is reviewed on prescribed frequency for accuracy and reflects current requirementsSupervise Quality Related Training System (5%)Identify relevant quality related training needsAssure staff are adequately trained on quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practicesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field7+ professional experience in Quality Management (e.g., audits, command media, RCCA, compliance)Demonstrated experience leading internal and external audits, including risk-based planning and executionSupervisory/people leadership experienceExperience leading teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to clearly influence and drive corrective actionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret data, dashboards, metrics, and control plansDemonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives with multiple business units or programsProven facilitation and stakeholder engagement skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related fieldProfessional certifications such as ASQ CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, CQM/OE, Lead Auditor (AS9100, ISO 9001)Experience in regulated/government/defense environments (e.g., command media, oversight committees, ethics programs, RCCA)Demonstrated ability to design, mature, and standardize dashboards, risk registers, and return-to-green plansExperience establishing or maturing enterprise risk management frameworksExperience developing quality training programs or competency frameworksExperience assessing and improving organizational process maturityWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to travel 15% of the timeAbility to work for long periods at a computer/deskStandard office environmentABOUT THE ORGANIZATIONSAE Industry Technologies Consortia® (SAE ITC) enables organizations to define and pilot best practices.
