The Safety Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support to the EHS Manager and is responsible for supporting manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and logistics safety activities while ensuring regulatory adherence. This role focuses on documentation, reporting, training coordination, and recordkeeping to support compliance with safety and chemical regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilites: Helps maintain site safety programs in a chemical manufacturing environment. Maintain and organize safety documentation (training records, inspections, permits). Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses. Schedule safety training and track employee completions. Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; perform root cause analysis. Maintain inspection logs and safety checklists. Prepare basic safety reports, logs, and dashboards for leadership. Track corrective actions and follow‑up deadlines. Support safety meetings (agenda prep, minutes, attendance tracking). Order safety supplies (PPE, signage, binders, labels). Serve as point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspections. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred. 1-2 years of manufacturing or chemical industry safety experience. Preferred DOT and Hazmat experience. Strong working knowledge of chemical hazards and regulatory reporting. Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook). This role operates in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments with periodic travel.
