We value technical excellence, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement—and we invest in our people so they can build long-term careers here.Work EnvironmentWorkplace Designation: HybridLocations: Lancaster or Mechanicsburg, PAOccasional fieldwork and site visits as requiredPosition Summary / What You’ll DoThe Air Quality Specialist supports air permitting and compliance efforts by preparing technical analyses, applications, and reports related to state and federal air quality regulations. This role plays a key part in helping clients navigate regulatory requirements while supporting RETTEW’s environmental practice with reliable, defensible technical work.Responsibilities / Day-to-DayPrepare air quality permit applications, compliance reports, and emissions inventoriesInterpret and apply federal, state, and local air quality regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, PA DEP requirements)Conduct air dispersion modeling and emissions calculations as neededSupport environmental due diligence and impact assessmentsCoordinate with internal project teams, regulators, and clientsAssist with site inspections, data collection, and compliance evaluationsMaintain accurate documentation and support project schedules and deliverablesQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field2+ years of experience in air quality permitting, compliance, or environmental consultingWorking knowledge of air quality regulations and permitting processesStrong technical writing and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesPreferredExperience with PA DEP air quality programsFamiliarity with air modeling software (e.g., AERMOD)Consulting experience supporting industrial or municipal clientsProfessional certification (or progress toward certification)What We OfferCompetitive salary aligned with experience and market dataESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)Hybrid work flexibilityProfessional development, training, and career growth opportunitiesCollaborative, employee-owned culture focused on long-term successRETTEW is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
